Misal Pav

Preparation time - 45 mins
Serves - 4

For usual

Matki (Moth beans) -2 cups
Onion - 1
Mustard - for seasoning
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Salt - As per taste
Water - 1 cup

1. Soak matki for 6-8 hrs in water.
2. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard, turmeric powder.
3. Add chopped onions to the pan. Fry till its golden brown.
4. Add the sprouted matki.
5. Add a spn of garam masala and red chilli powder.
6. Add salt as per taste.
7. Now add water and cook for 15 mins.

For Tarri

Onion - 2
Garlic -7-8 cloves
Tomato - 2
Oil - for seasoning
Sugar - 2 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Misal pav masala - 4 tsps
Water - 5 to 6 cups

1. Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic. Then add chopped onions and allow it to turn brown.
2. Add chopped tomatoes.
3. Grind the above mixture to a paste.
4. Again take little oil in a pan. Add turmeric.
5. Add the paste with sugar, red chilli powder.
6. Now add misal pav masala.
7. Then add 5 to 6 cups of water. Boil for 5 mins.
8. Tarri is ready.

Serving

Farsan - 1 packet
Onion - 1
Lemon - 1
Pav - 12-15
Usal and Tarri

1. Take a bowl. Add 2 spoons of matki usal.
2. Then add farsan over it.
3. Pour the tarri over it, such that it is farsan is partly immersed in the tarri.
4. Add chopped onions over it.
5. Squezee lime and serve.
