Dal Kachori

Dal kachori is a easy to make snack. Good to munch on with your evening tea.

Preparation time - 1 hour
Serves - 12-15 pieces

Ingredients

For stuffing:

Urad dal - 1/2 cup
Green chilli - 2
Ginger - a small piece
Oil - for seasoning
Saunf - 1 tsp
Jeera - 1 tsp
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Hing - a pinch
Amchur powder -  1/2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Sugar -1 tsp

For kachoris

Maida - 2 cups
Salt - as per taste
Ghee - 2 tsp
Oil - for deep frying

How to make Dal Kachoris?

1. Soak urad dal in water for 15 mins. Later drain the water completely.
2. Grind green chillis and ginger to make a paste.
3. Take little oil in a pan for seasoning. Add saunf, jeera, turmeric powder and mustard seeds.
4. Now add green chilli and ginger paste and mix well. Next add amchur powder, coriander powder, hing, salt and sugar.
5. Saute the spices well and add urad dal to it and fry till the mixture becomes dry.
6. Allow the above mixture to cool.
7. Take maida, add salt, add ghee and water to knead into a soft dough.
8. Now divide small portions of dough and flatten it. Put a portion of stuffing and seal it well. Flatten the maida coverings to make it look like a kachori.
9. Deep fry the kachoris in medium flame oil.
10. Serve hot with tomato sauce or daye chutney.
